Endobrow Surgery

Abramson Facial Plastic Surgery & Rejuvenation Center offers the most advanced and least surgically invasive approach to “lift” the eyebrow area, which is the endoscopic browlift surgery, or endobrow. With a small incision and slender telescope, an endoscopic eyebrow lift raises the eyebrows which will achieve a more youthful eyebrow arch.  Endobrow is a safe, effective procedure that uses the latest, most state-of-the-art techniques and instruments to give our patients outstanding results.

Endobrow Procedure Overview

Your endobrow surgery procedure will proceed as follows:
  • You will be draped and your face will be cleaned with antiseptic solution.
  • You will be given a mild sedation and treatment areas will be anesthetized.
  • 2-3 small incisions will be made inconspicuously in the hairline.
  • Using the endoscope and another instrument, the forehead will be elevated from the bone. Corrugator muscles will be released, and the brow (if necessary) will be lifted to its new position.
  • Sutures or staples will be used to hold the flap in place for a few weeks.
  • Sutures will be used to close the incisions.
  • The procedure will take between 1-2 hours, depending on the extensiveness.
  • Endobrow surgery can be done along with other surgeries, like eyelid lifts.

What to Expect After Endobrow Surgery

After an endobrow surgery with Abramson Facial Plastic Surgery & Rejuvenation Center you may experience some numbness, swelling and discomfort at the incision sites. This is normal. Oral pain medication can be used to control the discomfort, which will go away quickly, along with the numbness and swelling.

Your face will be lightly bandaged, and these will be removed in 2-3 days. The sutures will usually be removed in 1-3 weeks. You will be up and about in 1-2 days, but you will need to take it easy for a few days. You will be able to shower and shampoo your hair after bandage removal, and patients normally return to work within 10 days. However, you must avoid rigorous activity for a while.

At Abramson Facial Plastic Surgery & Rejuvenation Center, we recommend using mineral cosmetic makeup to camouflage any remaining swelling and bruising. Our patients have been very pleased with Jane Iredale mineral cosmetic makeup, and you can ask about it in our skin care center.

Direct Browlift

The oldest and simplest surgical approach to correct your brows is a less invasive eyebrow lift, or direct browlift.

Using the most current, cutting-edge techniques and instruments, combined with Dr. Abramson’s extensive expertise, Abramson Facial Plastic Surgery & Rejuvenation Center  is able to achieve wonderful results. We can’t stop the clock from ticking, but we can turn it back a bit!

Gravity, age and genetic inclination are the most common causes of ptosis, or droopy eyebrows.  A direct browlift is a safe and effective surgical approach to correct this problem. It can be performed on any patient, but is ideally suited for those with healthy, heavy brows. The direct browlift can be done on both brows or just on one (unilateral).

Direct Browlift Procedure

The procedure for a direct browlift procedure with Abramson Facial Plastic Surgery & Rejuvenation Center goes as follows:

  • You will be draped and your face will be cleaned with antiseptic solution.
  • You will be given a mild sedation and treatment areas will be anesthetized.
  • Incisions will be placed immediately above the brows, following the natural curve of the eyebrow.
  • The forehead will be elevated from the bone; the corrugator muscles will be released, and the brows will be raised to their new position.
  • Sutures or staples will be used to hold the flap in place for a few weeks.
  • Sutures will be used to close the incisions.
  • The procedure will take between 1-2 hours, depending on the extensiveness.
  • Direct browlift surgery can be done at the same time as another procedure, such as an eyelid lift or a facelift.

After a direct browlift procedure, you can expect many of the same side effects as an endobrow procedure including numbness and swelling. As with the endobrow procedure, your recovery time will vary. Most patients return to work within 10 days.
