The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin. When Microneedling is combined with Placental Growth Factors the results are dramatic. Fine lines, wrinkles, skin discoloration, and acne scars are greatly diminished revealing healthy, smoother skin.

What are Placental Growth Factors?

Growth Factors are naturally found within the skin. As you age, the body’s natural production of Growth Factors slows down dramatically. Once this occurs there is a loss of collagen in the skin that results in loss of elasticity, skin discoloration (hyperpigmentation), fine lines, wrinkles, and more. Dr. Peter Abramson and is team of experts at Abramson Plastic Surgery in Atlanta, GA use Growth Factors in conjunction with Microneedling to provide patients with the most comprehensive and advanced treatment available today.

Placental growth factors contain over 200 nutrient-rich peptides and proteins that repair skin. These Growth Factors are responsible for cellular growth, proliferation and repair and play a very important role in maintaining healthy skin structure and function including:

  • Wound repair
  • Formation of collagen
  • Regenerate healthy tissue

These peptides turn essential activities within cells ‘on’ or ‘off’ to help each cell function as it did in its prime. Playing a variety of roles, they help to maintain the skin’s youthful appearance by increasing cell renewal, cell defense, blood circulation along with collagen and elastin production.
