How the Procedure Works
AccuTite is a non-surgical, in-office procedure. Local anesthesia is used to numb treatment areas. Using the AccuTite handheld device, Dr. Abramson will transfer radiofrequency (RF) energy to the targeted area on your face or body.
The radiofrequency radiation flows safely through skin tissues, burning fat in a targeted manner and providing tightened and remodeled surfaces. There is no need to worry about the hard-to-reach areas because AccuTite is also specially designed for this.
Before & Preparation.
Before the AccuTite procedure, we suggest the following:
- Avoid products containing aspirin, Vitamin E, or ibuprofen two weeks before your treatment. These compounds are known to cause thinning of the blood. Avoiding them reduces the risk of bruising and bleeding.
- It’s equally important to avoid cigarettes and alcohol to prevent complications during the healing process.
During the Procedure.
- On your treatment day,our staff will supply you with a gown and escort you to the procedure room.
- The skin in the targeted areas will be cleaned before using local anesthesia to numb the area. We will allow you time to get comfortable as the anesthetic takes effect.
- Once the treatment area is numb, Dr. Peter Abramson will make a tiny incision to allow radiofrequency energy to access the subdermal tissues of the skin. The RF waves heat these tissues resulting in skin contraction and tightening.
- You may notice cracking and popping sounds as the tissues gradually heat, indicating that the procedure is working. We give each targeted area about five to fifteen minutes of treatment.
- Dr. Abramson will aspirate the liquefied fat, clean your skin and cover the tiny puncture holes with small plasters.
Aftercare & Recovery
After a successful procedure, you may return home the same day.
- Dr. Abramson may prescribe a few antibiotics to avert infections.
- Dr. Abramson will dress the treated area in a compression garment to reduce pain and swelling and facilitate healing. You are to wear the garment throughout until advised otherwise by our staff.
- You can massage the treatment areas gently, but you should not apply ice or heat to these areas.
- You should also avoid irritating skin products and alcohol the first month after treatment.
- You may perform light activities 48 hours after the procedure.
