Facial Plastic Surgery and Facial Cosmetic Surgery are Not the Same

Unlike facial cosmetic surgery, the facial plastic surgeon focuses on repairing and reconstructing abnormal structures of the face and body. These could be due to birth defects, accidents, burns, developmental abnormalities, cancerous tumors, and infections.

Cosmetic Surgeon

A cosmetic surgeon does cosmetic surgery procedures primarily to enhance the appearance of the face or body of an individual. Cosmetic procedures can be performed on all areas of the body including the head, neck, and body. The cosmetic surgeries performed are performed on completely functioning areas of the body. Nothing needs to be restored or repaired but may lack aesthetic appeal. All of these surgeries are elective and medical insurance does not cover the procedures.
