non-surgical faceliftIf you’re apprehensive about having cosmetic surgery, there are non-surgical options for facelifts available to help rejuvenate your appearance. By taking advantage of any these non-surgical procedures, patients can experience the benefits of having a more youthful appearance. Alternatives include injectables, laser treatments, thread-lifting or the AccuTite facial procedure. Each can promote tighter skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines with minimal or no downtime. Read below to learn which procedure might be right for you.

Liquid Facelift

Using injectables like Botox and Juvederm increases the volume and vitality of a patient’s skin in under an hour using a combination of injectables. Patients rarely experience discomfort or need recovery time, allowing them to resume their normal activities immediately after treatment. This treatment is ideal for patients who want firmer, lifted facial skin without having to plan for the recovery time a surgical facelift requires.

Board-certified facial plastic surgeon, Peter Abramson, M.D. , advises his patients on the perfect mix of dermal fillers and neuromodulators to create the aesthetic appearance you’re looking for. This treatment provides natural-looking results so that everyone will notice, but no one will know.

Laser Treatments

Laser treatments can be used to erase and improve skin conditions due to aging, sun exposure, acne, scarring, vascular pigmentation, and more. In an effort to provide our patients with the most advanced services, Abramson Facial Plastic Surgery & Rejuvenation Center offers a variety of laser treatments:

AccuTite Facial Procedure

AccuTite is a minimally invasive approach to facial, neck, and body contouring. The procedure relies on radio-frequency assisted lipolysis (RFAL) to reduce areas of stubborn fat and promote skin tightening. The AccuTite RFAL machine emits managed and controlled heating to the targeted area. This causes targeted fat cells to die and be naturally flushed from your body. The heating process also stimulates skin contraction, tightening, and collagen growth for a firmer, more youthful contouring. AccuTite is performed under local anesthesia or light sedation. The small incisions are strategically made in obscure locations to heal quickly and are less visible.

How Long Does AccuTite Last?

The way that the technology works, the fat reductions from AccuTite is technically permanent. However, you will continue to age, and if you gain some weight, the remaining fat cells in the area previously treated will enlarge. People have been seeing results continue to improve over  years, but as the aging process continues, you could repeat the procedure as needed maybe every few years until surgery is an option.

Facial PDO Thread-Lifting

Polydioxanone thread lift is a revolutionary new therapy in the world of cosmetics. The technique can improve the firmness and elasticity of the skin in the treated areas without invasive surgery and scars. PDO thread lift treatment is most commonly used to help tighten sagging skin on the face and neck without the need for invasive surgery. The cheeks, eyebrows, jawline, neck, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines benefit from PDO therapy. The PDO thread lift method stimulates collagen production in the skin, and after three months, collagen develops around the threads, creating a lifting effect that lasts between 12-18 months.

PDO therapy uses small blunt-tip needles to insert fine, absorbable polydioxanone threads into the skin’s subcutaneous layer. Polydioxanone is the material used to make the threads which are used in the lifting procedure. These threads cause micro-injuries that remain implanted in the skin to promote collagen synthesis. After six months, the threads dissolve into the body and leave new collagen in their place.

Since this treatment is non-surgical, the process begins by applying a topical numbing agent and a local anesthetic to the treatment site. The needle used for PDO thread lift procedures are very small so any discomfort is minimal.
Once the procedure begins, PDO threads are introduced via cannulas or blunt-tipped needles. The PDO threads are implanted into the skin’s subcutaneous layer to act as anchors as the skin is raised upwards. The external threads are then snipped. The skin is lifted immediately as the fat tissue is constricted. PDO threads act similar to a dermal filler but instead of leaving an injectable solution in the skin, a thread is left until it dissolves.

When Do You Need a Non-surgical Facelift?

Patients who are beginning to see signs of aging in the midface, jawline, and around the eyes but who don’t yet suffer from excess sagging skin or jowls may be excellent candidates for facial rejuvenation using any of the non-surgical procedures listed above. A non-surgical facelift can be a quick and cost-effective way to combat lines, wrinkles, volume loss, and hollow-looking contours with little or no downtime. While the results are not permanent, the treatment can be repeated at regular intervals to help you maintain your positive changes over time.
