Introducing “Baby Botox®”! Baby Botox is what young trendsetters are calling the use of micro-injections of Botox and dermal fillers to achieve subtle yet beauty-enhancing results. This concept has been steadily gaining popularity among men and women in their 20s and 30s who want to combat signs of aging but do not want a frozen or overdone look. Peter Abramson, M.D. at Abramson Facial Plastic Surgery in Atlanta, GA, specializes in cosmetic injectables and is happy to explain and suggest a treatment plan for each individual patient.
What is Botox Cosmetic
Botox, also known as (botulinum toxin type A), is an FDA approved wrinkle smoothing injectable that softens or eliminates wrinkles around the eyes, frown lines, and forehead furrows. Botox was designed to block muscular nerve signals. Without repeated contractions, the muscles weaken resulting in diminished unwanted facial wrinkles as much as 60%. While Botox remains one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in the world for men and women alike, some patients are opting for smaller doses to have better control over their facial muscles and a more natural appearance. Botox has also been used to help with everything from excessive perspiration to chronic migraines.
Botox vs. Baby Botox
The chemical makeup of Botox has not changed, only the amount per injection site. While full Botox treatments last up to six months or longer, Baby Botox patients will need additional injections in as little as three months to maintain the same appearance. Because each patient has different needs, and no two treatments will be the same, some patients opt for full Botox injections while others choose Baby Botox injections to hone in on specific areas of the face.
Benefits of Baby Botox
- No duck lips or frozen look.
- Results are natural and not fake-looking.
- Young women want to be a step ahead and get Baby Botox to prevent and/or delay the appearance of facial lines.
- Women are seeking a “less is more” approach to beauty.
About the Procedure
Dr. Abramson will use a very fine needle to inject Botox into the facial muscles that cause the lines and wrinkles on your forehead and between your eyes. If you are uncomfortable with the sensation of needles, a topical or local anesthesia can be administered to help with the discomfort. Botox treatments typically take less than 30 minutes, and there is no downtime. You may experience mild bruising, swelling, or bleeding at the injection sites. Immediately after treatment, you will see a subtle change in the lines and wrinkles. Over time, the skin continues to relax until the lines and wrinkles disappear.
